why celebrate xmas?
by enoughisenough inmany on here are ex jw....they have left the jws because of coming to find out the many false indoctrinations.
one of the things learned as a jw is that there isn't anything true about xmas being the birth of jesus.
( matt chapter 2 tells a whole different narrative about the baby jesus than what is portrayed by the christian churches) they learn the ways that are celebrated are pagan practices jesus told the samaritan woman that god wanted to be worshipped in spirit and it truth.

Myth of 1914
by peacefulpete inthe wt engages in history revisionism when insisting the world changed overnight in 1914. in fact the european power struggles that came to a head were centuries old.
millions of lives had been lost in the wars of the 19th century, with the world a powder keg the years prior to the assassination of franz ferdinand in june 1914 which is often said, albeit rather arbitrarily, as the start of the war that escalated over the next 4 years into the great war.
take a look at these two pages and ask if the wt's interpretation of history seems accurate to you.

If a person doesn't understand the the biblical concept of dispensations, It will be hard to understand what 1914 was all about.
It is obvious to me that this was an attempt to shut down the dispensation of grace. This in turn opened the door to highlighting a small number of scriptures that apply during the period before the Millieniium Reign begins.
The ultimate goal of this tactic was to make the New Covenant (with its promises) irrelevant to the average member This of course makes it seem logical to ritually reject the NC at each Memorial.
It is a brilliant deception for those who fall for it.The WT will never abandon 1914 because it will open up the age of grace again with its covenant of grace. The whole reason they exist is to shut that door.

Peter, Paul and Mary may have been puffing on something other than Dragon's Breawth.
But seriously, this seems to perfectly describe a dinosaur (dragon).
Job 41
Who can open the doors of his face? his teeth are terrible all around. 15 His scales are his pride, shut up together as with a close seal. 16 One is so near to another, that no air can come between them. 17 They are joined one to another, they stick together, that they cannot be parted. 18 By his sneezings a light flashes, and his eyes are like the eyelids of the morning. 19 Out of his mouth go burning lamps, and sparks of fire leap out. 20 Out of his nostrils goes smoke, as out of a boiling pot or caldron. 21 His breath kindles coals, and a flame goes out of his mouth. 22 In his neck remains strength, and sorrow is turned into dancing before him. 23 The folds of his flesh are joined together: they are firm on him; they cannot be moved. 24 His heart is as firm as a stone; yea, as hard as a piece of the lower millstone. 25 When he raises up himself, the mighty are afraid: because of his crashings they are beside themselves. 26 The sword of him that reaches him cannot avail: neither the spear, the dart, nor the javelin. 27 He regards iron as straw, and bronze as rotten wood. 28 The arrow cannot make him flee:

Early Hominem. Neanderthals. Evolution.

They reject it because if it’s true, the Eden account can’t be literal history…
…therefore, Adam and Eve weren’t actual real people, therefore the “Original Sin” (whatever one thinks it is) didn’t actually happen, therefore Jesus’ “ransom sacrifice” wasn’t necessary…@Vidiot,
Even if there was no 'original sin", you have your own sin that you have personal experience with. So, your logic is a non-sequitur.
By the way, what makes you think Evolution is true? I put up several documented cases of substantial evolution fraud in previous posts aimed at deceiving the public in museums and universities.. Where is your outrage at those obvious deceptions? Do you want evolution to be true or do you want truth regardless?By the way, If you are a product of random mutations over billions or years, how could you be sure of what logic even is? Whey would it be the same in England as it is Hawaii? Why even ackknowledge known laws of logic if they are arbitrary. Logic itself is inconsistent with a naturalism wordview becuse it is conceptual, rooted in the nature of God.
Christians have a basis of acknowledging logic because God is the source of all truth and we are made in his image. You have to borrow from the Christian worldview to even argue against it. -

My Prediction Regarding New Space Telescope That Will See Back to 100 Million Years From the Big Bang
by Sea Breeze ina new space telescope launched a few days age that will supposedly be able to see to within 100 million years of the big bang.
wow... only 100 million years from the big bang.
that is pretty early given the 12 billion year age of the universe assigned by scholars who adhere to naturalism.

We have seen pretty pictures from the JW telescope, , the real work is yet to come.
I agree. And I fully intend on watching this closely.
Because secular cosmologists find a universe they cannot explain with the BB theory (or the steady-state) theory, they make the incredible claim that the trillions of stars and galaxies that we observe are not original. They imagine that there has been a least three universes that have run out of gas, exploded, and reconstituted themselves into what we now see.
All this without a shred of evidence of the hypothetical original stars.... no matter how "far back" they look.
This is the real elephant in the room no one is talking about. The perfectly shaped spiral galaxies observed from the dawn of time, together with their brigntness, size and frequency is just icing on the cake for the Creationist. -

DJW,
I think you would agree that if you are a "born-in", had our ancestors believed God, they would not have put their trust in the Governing Body and that would have saved us much tragedy.
Psalm 146:3 - Do not trust in...in mortal man, in whom there is no salvation.
Jeremiah 17:5 - Cursed is the man who trusts in mankind
Isaiah 2:22 - Stop regarding man, whose breath of life is in his nostrils; For why should he be esteemed?
The choice to not believe God is directly responsible for wiping out 5 generations of my family. So, I am very reluctant to go against what God says. I've seen the devastating consequences.
Correct thinking and sound logic make the decision to believe God fully acceptable to me.
The blatant deceptions of evolutionists are simply breath-taking. The video below is just one of many examples of why the biblical advice on not putting our ultimate trust in men is wise.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ObX3UdrKvZo&t=136s
By the way, whale fossils are widely touted by evolutionists as the best evidence they have to support molecules-to-man evolution. Incredible.

Jesus as 'The mighty + almighty God'
by JW Answers injehovah's witnesses refuse to believe that jesus is the almighty god.
they would state that jesus is 'mighty', but not almighty.. below is a 30 minute video proving from the word of god that the lord jesus christ is both mighty and almighty, separate from the father but equal too.. the verses used from scripture show without a doubt that christ is mighty (isaiah 9:6) and almighty (rev 1:7-8)..

@SBF - Don't you believe God existed before Jesus? Why reject the obvious and search for a solution clearly outside of scripture?
You are not addressing the bible's solution to the "problem". I guess your silence means that you do not believe that we are constructed of soul, spirit and body as the bible teaches, is that ok to assume that?
That is why you want to takes sides on whether or not Jesus was less than God. The scriptures clearly teach both equality and less than equality. The solution the bible offers on the nature of man resolves this "problem" that modern man has who is infected with Materialism.
God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name: That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth; 11And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.
BOTH positions are clearly taught here.... as in a dozen other places including early church writings.
The angel-god of the WT didn't bleed for you. But, God did."feed the church of God, which he hath purchased with his own blood." - Acts 20: 28

Genesis-as-literal-history is too deeply baked into WT cosmology.
@ Vidiot
The WT does not teach a literal Genesis history. They are in the same "billions-of-years" camp as atheists. When a person leaves the WT, rarely do they shed the billion-of-years indoctrination they received as a child from the WT and their partents.See the article:
"Do Jehovah’s Witnesses Believe in Creationism? No".
"Jehovah’s Witnesses have no objection to ...the earth...be[ing] billions of years old."
